A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program prepares individuals to assist nurses and provide basic care to patients in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. Here’s a general overview of what you can expect from a CNA training program

1. Program Overview

Duration: CNA training programs will total 160 hours

Theory - 60 hours

Clinical - 100 hours

Format: Programs can be offered in various formats, including in-person, online with in-person clinical components, or hybrid.

2. Curriculum

Our CNA programs generally cover the following topics:

Basic Nursing Skills: Patient care, hygiene, and safety.
Medical Terminology: Understanding common terms used in healthcare.
Vital Signs Monitoring: Measuring and recording vital signs.
Infection Control: Practices to prevent and control infections.
Patient Rights and Ethics: Understanding patient rights, confidentiality, and ethical issues.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with patients and healthcare team members.

3. Clinical Experience

Hands-On Training: Includes practical experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or nursing home.
Skills Application: Applying skills learned in the classroom under the supervision of a licensed nurse or instructor.

4. Certification Exam

Written Test: Assessing knowledge of patient care and medical terminology.
Practical Skills Test: Demonstrating proficiency in nursing skills.
Certification: Successful completion of both parts leads to CNA certification by the CDPH.

5. Program Requirements

Prerequisites: High school diploma
Applicant Must be 16 Y/O or Above
State issued Drivers License / ID / Passport
Copy of SSN Card / ITIN (Photocopy)
A background check and immunizations may be required.
